Communications

Communication is an essential component in any emergency or disaster relief effort.  Search & Rescue units are authorized use of public service frequencies under their own license or with the permission of a license holder, such as the county, sheriff's office, EMS agency, or fire dept.

ISSAR unit members are also authorized use of

ISSAR's frequency, 155.265 MHz.

Before using this frequency, be sure that your communications will not cause harmful interference with another agency in your area of operations.  At least, one school district has authorized use of this frequency and uses it to communicate with their buses.  If your unit will be using this frequency, keep a copy of the license with the your unit's ISSAR Charter.  To download a copy of the ISSAR FCC license, double click on the image below, then right click and save a copy to your directory.

For questions , contact the Communications Officer, Burt Bates.
