2011 Summer Convention Minutes June , 2011 Orofino, ID - Hosted by Clearwater County SAR
Meeting was called to order at 830 following with Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.

Moment of silence for the seriously ill: George Gunn, and Bob Helms.
Clearwater County Sheriff remarked about the ISSAR reimbursement for snowmobile teams, as well as discussing the sheriff’s liability for SAR. All SAR would not be possible without all the volunteers, and everyone is working together well with all Sheriffs and Deputies. Every year there are a lot more cases of people getting lost and the lost wanting to stay that way for a lot of reasons, and discussion followed on what the resources are that we use for a search. All personnel resources for every search can be called on to testify at any time for any search which goes to court. Discussion on documents that would be helpful in that case. Training is very important. 1033 LSO program is available for each county; Sheriff must make the call to sign up for resources.
Officers Report: Jim remarked that he would like to see a better turnout of Idaho Counties for the meetings.
Steve updated on status of accounts $7,395.11 & $2,833.87 = $10,228.98 Total. Also there was a decline of members, and no real interest for a cadet program.
Unit Reports: Boundary County: Sheriff started a Posse, and recent river search was successful. Clearwater County: 5 searches with 1 assist. 1 recovery. Idaho County/GMRU: 1 search, 1 rescue Gooding County: No Report Jerome County: no report Salmon County: 2 rollovers, 2 accidents. School Bus extraction training. 1 drowning victim, no recovery yet. 1 assist to stroke victim. NezPerce County: At the fair they had spot beacon training, and they did rodeo traffic control. Rescue trailer training. 3 calls for crashed & help with floods. Possible body dump false alarm. Lewis County: Lady missing in Kamiah, search aided by Clearwater S&R along with Dog Team. Body found in Washington, DNA pending. 3 new members. Washington County: 2 recovery calls: 1 pickup, 1 drowning
Committee Reports: By-Laws: Discussed that elections can take place with little turn out, but would rather wait. Elections will be at trail-ride in September, but must be done. There is an option to leave the board as is. Ride is Labor Day weekend at American Falls, with full assess of surrounding camp grounds. 2 trainings on the calendar. Web-Page: ISSAR.org On the Resource page is where all teams and equipment reimbursement forms are available. They must be signed by your sheriff and sent to Butte County. Question of access to resource page for updates each team? Legislature: George Gunn no report Scrapbook: Marie Great Job!! JR Members: Cadet Programs, Start age is 16. Fremont County has one. Search Reimbursement: Statistics are important for State Legislature funds, make sure to report.
Unfinished Business: Idaho State reimbursement for Joel Harding Tracking Class. ISSAR fund are $2.50 per member: 1.00 for zone fund for training, and $1.50 to ISSAR. In order to get reimbursed for training, you must invite all counties in your zone, but you won’t get reimbursed if you charge for the class. 60/40 split for funds in each zone. Marsha is our fund manager and she is gone for 3 months, $3300 left for funding our zone. Invite all active members only for training.
Discussion on Everett Bogart Award for the Most Outstanding in the Unit.
New Business: Can’t do elections at this time, will be on the Sept. Trail ride.
