Communications, Jim Gay- Jim spoke at the last meeting regarding the grant with the state EMS “P25 radios”. Their unit was turned down because of not enough inter-agency exercises. They are auditing to see “inter-operability” with ambulance & fire crews, but another round of grants is coming around. The deadline is 2013 to update to P25 radios. Your unit must be 100% NIMS compliant & have your interoperability exercises complete. You will be audited.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Search Reimbursement- new forms were approved just prior to the summer meet and put on the ISSAR Website as well as the Sheriff’s Association webpage. Pretty much the same form, but they are asking for a longer narrative, so the new form has additional space for narrative.
Minutes: Mitch Hansen made a motion to approve Summer Convention minutes as printed; seconded. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS: State Meeting Training Reimbursement – Brett Mackert has been working with Wes Collins on getting approval for state meetings to be covered as a training expense. Wes stated that units can turnin training request to the state sheriff’s Association and as long as your sheriff has signed off on the request as a training, Wes wasn’t going to question it, and will sign off on it as well. This is a resource for your unit to attend the state meetings & funds will come out of the Sheriff’s Association training budget.
County Insurance – Brett is going to look into coverage if a member is hurt or killed while in service.
UPCOMING MEETINGS: These are special 40th Anniversary Year meeting/events, let’s have a great turnout.
Feb 27- Mar 1, 2009 Winter Membership: Salmon County - July 2009 Summer Convention: Fremont County 2009 Fall Trailride: Franklin County
No further business or announcements. Brett Mackert entertained a motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned.
