Gooding, Tony Funk- We had 2 callouts, 1 to assist Lincoln for a drowning victim. 1 to look for drowning victim on the Snake River in Hagerman Power, Pete Williams- Since summer convention, we have responded to 2 search missions. The first one was for a stranded boat on the Snake River. These 2 men were fishing when they encountered problems with their motor. They were picked up and towed to the boat launch. The second search was for a teenager trying to receive cell phone service. While walking and holding the phone in the dark he walked off of a 45-foot cliff. We were able to use our rescue sled to load and transport the teenage to the top on flat land. Life flight transported for further treatment. We received a grant for a 23-foot jet boat. This will be a great asset to our unit. We held our summer barbecue and served over 1600 people. We served breakfast for the MIA-POW rally we served over 500 people. Our water rescue training is set for Sept. 10. We will be practicing loading onto a backboard from the water and onto the rescue boat. We have been busy planning the campout and are having a dance next week for a fundraiser.
Committee reports: Bylaws, Jerry Colvin - In our last meeting, we discussed what to do with the state funding, if for some reason, we ever dissolve. We need to have Jerry write that into the bylaws.
